Programs and Activities
We provide support for educational programs focused on college and career readiness. Our goal is to support student leadership and achievement and to improve their academic performance. We provide students the opportunity to receive academic enrichment and life skills training to support their journey to college or vocational employment.
In partnership with other community organizations, LOPF supports school-readiness by supporting Back-to-School campaigns to collect school supplies and enable children to be prepared a for a successful school year. Legacy of Pearls Foundation supports post secondary education but providing scholarships to students.
A health community is a great community and LOPF encourages families to focus on their health and wellbeing. This includes physical and mental health.
Programs target critical issues facing many families, including lack of food, shelter and financial means. Our community based Childhood Hunger Initiatives are launched in partnership with local agencies, food banks and community pantries. We participate in clothing and food drives to collect and donate non perishable food items, hats, gloves, socks, scarves, coats, sweaters and other seasonal wraps for families in need. Our Family Financial Literacy programs are available as we work with partner organizations and families to help increase their understanding of money management & budgeting, basic financial planning and benefits of home ownership.
LOPF supports high impact programs to provide healthy environments and improve the quality of life in the underserved communities.
We support programming to ensure children have safe and inviting places to play. LOPF restores and renews existing community and school playgrounds. We promote environmental sustainability by encouraging recycling, litter prevention and waste management through daily green efforts in local communities.
We implement global classrooms to prepare today's youth for an increasingly global and underserved communities. We work in partnership with the United Nations Association to expand understanding of the UN, its mission and focus.
TEA Rose Cotillion Program
The TEA Rose program is a cotillion program designed to prepare and support young ladies transitioning into high school while also preparing them for college and beyond. The cotillion is the culmination of a series of educational, cultural, social and service-related activities that foster academic achievement and social responsibility. The young ladies will participate in six months of educational workshops, service projects and bonding activities that strengthens self-esteem and develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
